How to make?

Begin by greasing the base of a baking tin. Add some flour and granulated sugar. Ensure that the base of the tin is well coated. Break eggs in a mixing bowl. Add in salt, baking powder, vanilla, sugar as per the ingredients list mentioned. Beat all these ingredients well till a foamy and light mixture is created. The mixture needs to be well beaten and you can achieve this by using an electric mixer. Once you get a smooth consistency you can add in the flour. Mix the flour in gradually till a smooth mixture is formed. Preheat the oven and bake the cake for a time span of 15 minutes. When the cake looks spongy and baked completely, take it out and allow it to cool.

Once the cake is cooled, you can now prepare the topping and the layers. The pineapple syrup needs to be sprinkled on top as well as on a layer created by cutting through the middle of the cake. Layer the cake with whipped cream. Add on the chopped pineapples as well. Add on the other layer of the cake on top and repeat the same process. Add in the cream, pineapple syrup and chopped slices of the fruit. Once the cake layers are put together and the top decoration completed, put the cake into the refrigerator to chill.

12Making a diet friendly version

If you are cringing from the idea of cream, syrup and sugars added to this recipe, you could make it more diet friendly by simply adding replacing the whipped cream with sour cream. This will help you make the cake more diet friendly and reduce the increased fat intake from such a sweet dessert item. You could add in honey to the cream to make it sweet. Opt for granulated brown sugar when you are making the cake batter. The fruit syrup can be replaced with honey as well which is known as a fat free and a natural sweetener.
