Homemade peanut butter cups

If you are tired of trying the same old candy bars, peanut butter cups are something that not only appeals to you but also for your kids. The peanut butter cups are healthy as they are not too sweet. Peanuts are sweet naturally and you can make the recipe turn out as per your taste by adjusting the sweetness

Ingredients required

  • 3/4th cup peanut butter or nut butter, preferably salted and toasted
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 4 tablespoons of organic honey
  • 1/4th cup of coconut oil
  • 4 ounces of dark chocolate (unsweetened)
  • 1/3rd cup of toasted nuts

How to prepare?

Combine vanilla, coconut oil, peanut butter, 2 tablespoons of honey and nuts in a small bowl and mix them well. Transfer the contents with a heaping teaspoon into cupcake pans and place them in freezer. Unsweetened chocolate can be chopped into pieces and placed on the double boiler and mixed in the remaining honey. Bring it to boil in a pot and then the bowl can be placed on top. You have to be careful while following this procedure as there is always a chance of it getting burnt. Stir it gently as the chocolate is melted. Once you see that there are only a few chunks of chocolate, remove it from heat and let it melt fully. Pour the chocolate with a teaspoon of the peanut butter mixture and you can store it back in the freezer. Let it freeze for about 20 minutes. With a butter knife, pop them out. You can keep it in the freezer and enjoy it whenever you want.

If you want to toast the nuts, the procedure is indeed simple as you can place it in a dry pan on medium heat and stir continuously until the nuts turn into brown. You can use honey based on your preference.
